RESEARCH FACILITIES

Research Center for Computational Science
Computational services by Research Center for Computational Science are shared by all three institutes in Okazaki National Research Institutes to expand its frontier to the interdisciplinary area between molecular and biosciences in addition to computational chemistry. The center is expected to strengthen its basis as a common center not only to researchers in the institutes but also to molecular and bioscientists throughout the world and to provide them with powerful computational environment which may not be available in the other institutions such as universities.

Center for Experimental Animal
Center for Experimental Animal was established by converting Laboratory of Experimental Animals, which belonged to the National Institute for Physiological Sciences, into a common use facility of Okazaki National Research Institutes. The Center aims to provide an excellent condition for animal experiments, and to continuously improve and inform various experimental methods, such as animal breeding and preservation of rodent strains, to all the researchers in our institute complex.

Center for Radioisotope Facilities
The National Institute for Basic Biology Radioisotope Facility was renamed Center for Radioisotope Facilities (CRF), a common use center, controls all laboratories using non-sealed radioisotopes in ONRI. CRF maintains all records concerning radioactivity at ONRI and is responsible for all safety issues pertaining to radioactive hazards.
